How to Dye ▾

Always perform a patch test 24–48 hours before use.

  1. Pre-lighten: For brightest pink results, pre-lighten hair to light blonde using Flash Lightning® Bleach Kit.
  2. Cleanse: Shampoo with Prepare to Dye® Clarifying Shampoo and towel-dry.
  3. Prep: Apply Stellar Shield™ Barrier Cream along hairline.
  4. Apply: Fully saturate clean, damp hair.
  5. Process: 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse: Rinse with cool water until clear.
  7. Style: Dry and style as desired.
Manic Mixology ▾

Great Color but Awful Smell

"I have applied this gel dye twice to my hair now over pre-lightening sections of my hair and it really holds its color and vibrancy! I wash my hair every day and it was still looking good after 2 weeks of daily washes. My one major issue with this product is how awful it smells. I don't know if it's just the tube I got (I used pink warrior shade), but the smell is truly CAUSTIC. Not just normal dye smell... just terrible! If they reformuate to change the scent I will be a dedicated buyer for this dye as it looks super vibrant (on my box dyed black hair, which I only lifted sections by maybe 2 levels)."

Short Lived!

"I’m very surprised. I followed the instructions precisely but most of the color seems gone after only two shampoos! Normally I color only dry hair (not damp) and use a vinegar rinse afterwards. Different from these instructions. Not sure if that made the difference? On the other side, the gel is much easier to apply than the standard solution. Thanks."
